Thank you! Thank you to everyone who booked online in 2021 and included an optional donation to the Northern Viaduct Trust. This small gesture by our guests, topped up by ourselves means we have just donated £500 to this local charity.
For the second year we have decided to support The Northern Viaduct Trust where we can.
Some of you may have noticed an optional £1 donation button when booking your stay with us online, we are hoping that with your generosity which we shall top up at the end of the season, we can do our part in helping to look after our heritage.
Nearly all our guests enjoy the railway walk over Podgill and Merrygill Viaduct at some point, seeing as it can be accessed directly from the park. Many then go on to enjoy Smardale Viaduct walk also.
We are always so aware and thankful for our railway heritage on the park (we are actually situated on the old railway, we have many railway relics on site, The Engine Shed was actually the main Goods Shed for the Kirkby Stephen East station and still has the engine smoke line on the rafters), we want to do what we can to retain, restore and support the history surrounding us.
