5 Star Holiday Park

By | Uncategorised | No Comments

We are very pleased to announce we have achieved our 5 Star Holiday Park rating again for 2018, awarded by VisitEngland.

It’s very reassuring to have all our hard work in the background recognised on a national level. We of course appreciate all the (mostly) great feedback we get from our customers, it is after all you who we aim to please!

Thanks go to all our staff members for working to achieve the rating and we look forward to our customers visiting and enjoying another season at Pennine View Park.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all, hopefully this is going to be a year of new arrivals (for us literally) and new adventures.

We hope you enjoyed the festive season and are now ready and raring to get your 2018 year of caravanning, motor-homing and camping off to a great start.

2018 Season dates – Friday 2nd March to Sunday 4th November

We are now taking bookings for the 2018 season, the office will remain closed until we open in March but we are checking voicemails daily and dealing with any email enquiries as quickly as we can. You can book directly online via this website, which is instant and your confirmation will be sent as you book (check your junk mail if you don’t get it – we often get filtered out!)

We generally get booked up well in advance of Bank holidays so would advise booking early. Similarly our Mountain Pods which we introduced last August proved to be a popular addition with weekends especially going fast, so if you think you want that bit of extra comfort for your camping trip – get booking now!

Looking forward to welcoming you all soon.

Note: The park will be closed from 3rd-11th June

Season’s nearly over

We close our gates to guests on 5th November 2017.

With less than a month to go just a little reminder that we are still open and have an October offer running of 4 nights for the price of 3. If anyone wants to join us for an end of season extended break then please just give us a call on 017683 71717.

We will reopen for 2018 on 2nd March 2018.

Mountain Pods standing tall

Our shiny new Mountain Pods are now up and welcoming guests, the newest addition to our portfolio.

These beautiful wooden pods (shaped like Mountains!) can sleep up to 5 people. The comfy benches convert into one big bed (with mattresses) which can sleep 4 plus a single. They are lovely and warm plus they have heating for the chilly nights, they have a fridge, kettle and basic crockery.

They also come with your own picnic bench and BBQ, all you have to bring is your sleeping bags/linen, charcoal, cooking utensils and food!

All the fun of the outdoors and camping with a warm comfy ‘wooden tent’ to snuggle into. Perfect!

Westmorland Dales Day

By | Uncategorised | No Comments

We always say we’re perfectly placed in Kirkby Stephen as it’s only a short drive to the Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales and to the North Pennines – we basically have natural beauty in every direction.

This week the Lake District National Park was officially awarded UNESCO World Heritage Status, which is a pretty prestigious recognition, joining the iconic Taj Mahal, Great Barrier Reef and the Grand Canyon as an internationally acclaimed destination.

Meanwhile on the other side of the M6 the Yorkshire Dales National Park extended it’s boundaries to include the Howgills and much of the area close to Pennine View Park. In fact the boundary wall of the Pennine View is now also the boundary wall to the Yorkshire Dales National Park – so we really are being truthful when we say ‘your gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’.

There has been much discussion as to what to call this new section of the National Park (mainly due to the fact it takes in mostly Cumbrian land and we couldn’t possibly be associated with Yorkshire!). However the powers that be have concluded that the ‘Westmorland Dales’ is the name we shall be proud of – so of course we are having ‘Westmorland Dales Day’ in celebration.

So if you are visiting Kirkby Stephen on 30th July you can look forward to Breakfast at the Masonic Hall, Motoring memories, Artisan & Craft Market, Owl displays, Kirkby Stephen Silver Band, Westmorland Clog Dancers, Afternoon Tea, Cumbria Classic Coaches, Fun Runs and guided walks through Hartley, Kirkby Stephen and Smardale Gill.

Welcome to the Westmorland Dales! 🙂
