The schools have broken up and the countdown to Easter is on, in fact it’s nearly here! Easter Weekend in Kirkby Stephen is an extra special occasion as it gears up to host the Easter Classic Vehicle Rally. A huge and pristine collection of vintage buses, trucks, wagons, tractors and even a steam engine descend upon our little market town from all over the country. The town becomes a bustling hive of activity with free bus rides, over 250 exhibitors, local crafts and stalls and a Saturday evening road run. It really is a vintage vehicle spectacular which has to be seen to be believed, the event is organised by Cumbria Classic coaches. Stainmore Railway also puts on a good show at Kirkby Stephen East old station with Steam Engines, models, shop and events. Even the Rugby club has teamed up with the Rotary to put on a Beer festival over the weekend with Live Music, real ale and BBQ on the Saturday. We’re all set for a fantastic weekend – let’s hope the weather plays ball too!
