Stage 4 of Tour of Britain – 10th September

We are very excited here in Kirkby Stephen – the Tour of Britain cycle race is speeding through town on the 10th September in Stage 4 of the epic race, we even have a sprint stage through the town.

The town is doing all it can to embrace the celebrations with a family bike based musical on Monday and a Picnic Cinema (cycle based film!) on the Tuesday amongst the plans. Both the cinema night and the musical will be hosted by ourselves at Pennine View* – so if your staying with us – you won’t have far to wander to get involved!

We’d love for you all to join in the fun if you can, so we are offering a 10% discount for any stays of 2 nights or more between 8th-13th Sept 2019.
Just give us a call to book, or book online – use the code TOUR10.

The discount is only available to bookings made directly with ourselves, no discounts are available to bookings made via external bookings sites such as pitchup.com or airbnb.com.

*Both the musical and cinema are community organised events so there may be seperate charges/tickets for these.

New Heart Defibrillator at Pennine View Park

By | Uncategorised | No Comments

We are extremely pleased to announce that a new Community Public Access Defibrillator has been installed onsite, meaning the life saving technology is now easily accessible for local residents, neighbours and guests alike.

A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest.  This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it’s an essential part in trying to save the life of someone who’s in cardiac arrest. Along with CPR, it will give the patient the best possible chance of survival.

The devise was generously gifted to the park by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust after Chis Hyde, the Community Resuscitation Development Officer (Cumbria/Lancashire) recognised the nearest locations were both a significant distance away. Pennine View Park sits perfectly at the top of town and is easily accessible to local residents, along with the many campers and caravanners who visit the site.

We are extremely grateful for the donation and thrilled to have a defibrillator on site, its such a vital piece of equipment for the community, we want to make sure everyone knows it is here and available should it be needed.

Along with NWAS, we will be offering training on how to use the defibrillator on Tuesday 27th August at 6pm. The training is open to any local residents who would like to come, just give the park a call on 017683 71717 to register interest.
