Coast to Coast – the perfect pitstop

By | Uncategorised | No Comments

We have literally thousands of walkers passing through Kirkby Stephen every year on the famous Coast to Coast walk and plenty of those that brave a tent for accommodation land on our doorstep.

We see many a weary face (and a few spritely ones!) arrive after the long slog from Shap – don’t get me wrong most people are having a wonderful trip with views and experiences to last a lifetime, but after a week of walking over some pretty high hills most a ready for a rest. So we want to let you know there is no better place on the route to take a rest day.

Kirkby Stephen is one of the few towns on the route with all the amenities you need, pubs a plenty, cafes, shops to restock, camping/walking supplies and all set in a pretty market town that is widely recognised as the ‘half way’ point of the route.

Pennine View Park is located at the top of town and is an easy 15 minute walk to the centre. We have an onsite laundry so you can freshen up those socks, free wifi (and charging sockets) to reconnect with the world and for those wanting a little extra comfort we have warm cosy camping pods with heaters, kettles, fridge and most importantly comfy beds! The perfect pit stop to ready you for the next weeks walking.

So when planning your trip why not factor in a rest day with us, we’d be happy to welcome you.
